LA MASÍA GALLERY X NUDE PROJECT

Urvanity Projects joins forces with Nude Project to create La Masía Gallery, a new exhibition space for the brand in Barcelona

At Urvanity Projects we are entering a new phase with a focus on continuing to activate projects that connect art, brands and contemporary culture. We are doing so alongside Nude Project, with whom we have collaborated on the conceptualization and development of the curatorial direction of La Masía Gallery, a new exhibition space in Barcelona. This project is conceived with a long term vision and is built on a clear idea: to give visibility to young artists, many of whom are not represented by galleries, and to create a program that feels close and connected to the city.

La Masía Gallery stems from a personal story. Bruno Casanovas, co founder of Nude Project, fondly recalls the moments he spent during his childhood in his grandfather’s masía, where artists such as Salvador Dalí passed through and left their mark. It was a place where art happened naturally, without artifice. That memory is now brought to Barcelona in the form of a living space within the store itself, which will transform through eight exhibitions each year. From Urvanity Projects, we have designed a program focused on emerging Catalan artists that highlights local creativity and fosters a direct dialogue with its surroundings.

CARLOTA PÉREZ DE CASTRO (APRIL 25TH - JUNE 7TH))

The first exhibition features Carlota Pérez de Castro, whose practice lies between painting and performance. Her work explores painting through gesture, rhythm and movement. The choice of Carlota reflects a close connection with the Nude universe, as she is one of the reference artists for Bruno Casanovas, who wanted this first exhibition to have a particularly personal character, in line with the concept of the space itself.

LAIA GARCÍA (JUNE 11TH - JULY 19TH)

Laia García’s exhibition presents a painting practice that unfolds within the uncertain territory between figuration and abstraction. In Tetramorph, painting becomes a space of transformation where organic forms, symbols, and ambiguous presences emerge from memory, dreams, and intuition. Her work explores the image’s capacity to mutate and resist fixed interpretation, placing particular emphasis on gesture, materiality, and process. Laia’s selection reflects Nude Project’s interest in supporting a new generation of artists who approach painting as a field of experimentation and continuous discovery, in keeping with the space’s commitment to presenting personal, sensitive, and open-ended artistic practices.

QUIM GORDÚN (23 JULY - 13 SEPT)

The third exhibition at La Masía Gallery, in collaboration with Nude Projects, features Quim Gordún with 'To Reveal'. The artist’s painting practice focuses on figuration, materiality, and the processes through which images emerge. His works begin with the body, the landscape, and the reinterpretation of historical compositions, but shift the focus towards what takes place within the figure itself: its tensions, contrasts, voids, and areas of disfiguration. In his paintings, the vibrancy of colour and the physicality of the material bring the image closer to an expressive form of figuration.

Recently, his practice has entered a period of heightened concentration, intensified by an artist residency at NY20+ in Chengdu, China. In these new works, red, emptiness, and open surfaces activate new forms of restraint and depth: spaces where the background no longer merely supports the figure but instead becomes an active force within the painting.
