Is there a connection between the way we consume food and the way we consume art today? Does the appetite of the art market mirror the way we eat?
This project began with those questions. While food has always shaped the way we live, today consumption moves at a relentless, almost automatic pace. That same logic carried over into art: images and objects were absorbed quickly, accumulated, and rarely processed with much care.
The works explored excess, desire, and contemporary habits from different perspectives. Participating artists included Ana Barriga (Jerez de la Frontera, 1984), Hannah Epstein (Canada, 1985), Nicolás Romero (Buenos Aires, Argentina, 1985), Lusesita (La Rioja, 1979), Laura Lagraña aka Culitomatón (Barcelona, 1995), Ricardo Passaporte (Lisbon, 1987), Bieke Buckinx (Brussels, 1988), Fátima de Juan (Palma de Mallorca, 1984), Reihaneh Hosseini (Tehran, Iran, 1988), and Francesc Rosselló (Mallorca, 1994).
